This is quite a modern-looking shop outside and in. The Lamson pneumatic tube system was installed over 50 years ago. It connects every department of the shop to the cash office. At present there is only one line working but the system may be restored in the future. When I visited in July 2018, there were three PneuArt terminals visible on the ground floor and one upstairs. The terminals are mostly recessed: only one downstairs has short lengths of tubes exposed.
